Our Background

Bad & Classic Productions started from humble beginnings—as a group of high school friends from Texas getting together in our spare time to create fun videos. Our passion and desire to create continued to develop as we found ourselves pursuing our dreams and moving to Los Angeles to attend the University of Southern California. During our time at USC, we, John Redlinger, B.F.A. (Acting) and Sam Schweikert, B.S. (Business/Cinematic Arts), made a variety of short films and commercial content. Before long, we decided to officially form our company Bad & Classic Productions. We wanted to embody the rogue and rebellious nature required of indie filmmakers, “BAD”, as well as the crisp, clean craftsmanship of professional big-budget creatives, “CLASSIC”.

We have since continued creating both short- and long-form content. From 24-hour video races, where participates create an entire short film in a 24-hour window, to big-budget commercial contracts, we have learned from every project we’ve produced. Together we have certainly put in those illustrious “10,000 Hours” Malcolm Gladwell expounds upon. In that time, we have received tremendous recognition for our narrative film work. Our projects have appeared in the Cannes Film Festival, Palm Springs Film Festival, and the 48-Hour Film Project’s International Filmapalooza. Together we have accumulated numerous accolades and awards in various categories including Best Director, Writer, Cinematographer, Editor, Actor, and Film. We also aim to collaborate with other talented artists with a variety of skills in order to produce the highest quality of work. 

We have worked with a wide variety of commercial clients from small start ups, to non-profits, to large international health and wellness companies. In the industry today all actors have to market themselves in the absolute best ways possible. Whether they are young actors just entering the field, or seasoned pros with a long list of credits, every actor needs to have current on-camera footage to show producers, agents/managers, and casting directors. We now provide full service reel packages for actors looking to update or create a reel. From script writing, to on-set production, to in-house editing we will cater to the individual needs of every client we work with providing unique and powerful material for actors of any age or demographic. We offer a variety of packages so that we can curate the specific package that is best for you!
